Homework:
  1. For those who earned a “1” on the Unit 1 Summative, most will have re-takes tomorrow, so if that applies to you - be sure to study!  The key to the study sheets has been posted on the science blog.
  2. Create Quizlet set called “ Cell Structure and Function” and enter words/definitions 1-6. If you don’t have internet at home you have three options I can think of: you can visit the library to use their Wifi.  You can enter the words first thing in the morning before homeroom. You can make paper flashcards instead of using Quizlet.
  3. If you didn’t already complete the Introduction to Eukaryotic cells Crossword for homework last night, be sure to do so tonight.

If you were out:
Copy the folowing question to your journal and answer it. Then see me to check your answer.
11/29/16 Do Now: What are two differences between prokaryotes and Eukaryotes.
In class, after discussing the Do Now, students were working on their crosswords, or if they were done, they worked on inputting the words to Quizlet.

Today in class, last night’s homework  - completing the “Wacky History of Cell Theory” was checked for completion.  I will be looking at them individually in more detail to make sure it is ok and checking it off when we get back from Thanksgiving Break.
The link for the video is on the main blog page - be sure to write the three parts to cell theory on the sheet with the cartoon characters on it, and the names of each of the eight scientists mentioned in the video along with what each one did and arrows that indicate who worked with whom on the other handout with lines.  Tape both into facing pages before showing it to me.
The rest of the block we played Kahoot to review some of what we’ve learned about cell structure and function so far.

If you were out, see me to set up a time to take the formative on types of Biochemicals, then, go to the science blog (16-17acadiascience.blogspot.com), read the latest entry and follow the instructions - this should help you prepare for the formative.

See me for a copy of the Life is Made out of Cells and the Wacky History of Cell Theory handouts, and,  using the link on the blog to watch the “Wacky History of Cell Theory” video, use the video to get the information to complete the handouts.  Be sure to TAPE THE HANDOUTS INTO YOUR JOURNAL, and then show them to me to be checked off, before moving on to the next activity.

Once I’ve checked you off for the “Wacky History,” get a copy of the “Intro to Eukaryotic Cells” Crossword, and use onf of the magazines with the title “Kids Discover Cells” to come up with the crossword answers. When you’ve completed the crossword, fold it in half and tape it into your journal.
