Homework:

Finish graphing the 4 waves on the handout for U6Act2: Anatomy of a Wave and answer the concluding question at the bottom of the handout.

Then show me.  See the instructions below.

If you were out today:

Finish graphing the 4 waves on the handout for U6Act2: Anatomy of a Wave and answer the concluding question at the bottom of the handout.

Then show me.

Copy the following definition for Frequency to the Anatomy of a Wave handout:
Frequency: the number of oscillations per second in Hertz, where 1 Hertz = 1 oscillation per second.

To graph a wave, follow these instructions step by step.  You will need the Anatomy of a Wave handout.
  • 1st: set up Y-Axis. Look at the crest and trough amplitude (height) to figure out Y-Axis height.
  • 2nd: Make dot on Y axis for first crest (look at crest amplitude).
  • 3rd: Move over one wave length from 1st crest and make dot for 2nd crest.
  • 4th:  On line of origin, move to right 1/2 wavelength and then down by trough amplitude and make a dot.
  • 5th: Draw wave using your crest and trough marks.
