Homework:
No new homework, unless you didn’t finish defining the first three terms on the back of the Genetics Vocabulary Warmup Wordsearch.  In that case, copy these definitions down to the vocab list:

Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA): Hereditary material that controls all the activities of the cell. Contains info to make new cells and for making proteins.
Gene: Segments of DNA that carry hereditary instructions and are passed from parent to offspring; located on chromosomes.
Chromosome: A coiled structure of DNA and protein that forms in the cell nucleus during cell division

If you were out:
1/13/17 Do Now: Using the Green textbook, define the first three terms on the back of the genetics vocabulary Warmup worksheet. Save this vocab sheet! As with all handouts you are given, do not discard at least until the unit is finished.
Watch Bill Nye Genes, complete the accompanying worksheet and see me for the key.
We also took an Inventory of traits - see me for a copy of the handout and to add your traits to the tally for the team.
