If you were out today:
We discussed the Do Now on Carbon Sinks from the Dinosaur Breath reading. A carbon sink is a place the carbon can go and be stored.
Copy down the following near yesterday’s Do Now: Examples of Carbon sinks include the atmosphere, the ocean, the bodies of plants and animals, and the Earth’s crust.
See me for a copy of the Dinosaur Breath Question sheet if you need one, and correct it using the key on the Science Blog.

If you were out today:
Copy the following Do Now to your journal
5/11/17 Do Now: [write date, copy question and answer it] Thinking back to Dinosaur Breath, name three sinks (areas of storage) that carbon can go in the carbon cycle.
Then copy the following definitions to your journal:
Source: any process or activity through which a greenhouse gas (such as CO2) is released into the atmosphere.
Sink: A reservoir where these gases can be taken up and stored.
Get a copy of the guide sheet for the video “The Acid Test: the Global Challenge of Ocean Acidification”, go to the science blog and follow the link to watch the video, and complete the guide sheet.
