Copy the following to the next blank page after yesterday’s Do Now which was to set up U1Act6.

9/28/16 U1Act7 Making Your Own Slides
Dry Mount: (no water) The think you plan to observe is placed on the slide with a cover slip over it. Usually used for things that don’t move or require water to live.
After you have leveled up, you will work on U1Act5: Microscope Optics (the “e” lab).  Show me when you have finished to be checked off to move up to U1Act6: Scientific Drawings.  This activity is due by the end of the block on Thurs., 9/29.
In U1Act6, you will draw 5 pre-prepared slides and have a classmate critique them.  When you are finished, tape it into your journal on the page you should have set up for U1Act6 and then show me to get the ok/check off to move on to U1Act7: Making Your Own Slides.
In U1Act7, you will make three dry mount slides by putting specimen on a glass slide, then putting a plastic coverslip over the specimen and viewing and drawing it under low power and medium power on the handout with field of view circles supplied using proper the proper formatting covered in class.  When you have completed the six drawings, trim and tape your drawings on the handout into the journal on the page you have set up for U1Act7 and then see me to be checked off.
